Family Bird Walk
Join local birders for several hours of walking and enjoying birds and nature. Suitable for beginners and families or anyone wanting to become more familiar with Sunriver's bird species.
The focus will be on enjoying time in nature while curious and learning together about birds (and perhaps a few other creatures along the way).
We walk about three miles over rough winter terrain, so bring warm winter layers, sturdy boots with traction, and a trekking pole for the ice and snow patches. You should bring some water and snacks for kids if needed. No strollers or dogs. Bring cameras and binoculars if you have them, but most important is to come ready to observe and listen to your surroundings.
If you provide an email address, the guide, Sevilla Rhoads, will provide you with an eBird list of the bird species seen on the walk along with any photos taken of the birds that day.
Preregistration required. Fee is suggested, but not required if it is a barrier to participation. If the fee is a barrier, use code BIRDER for no-cost registration.
We welcome people and families of all backgrounds. If you need a physically more accessible walk, please contact us to arrange one more suited to your abilities.
