Mushroom Foraging Field Trip

 

Unleash your inner mycologist and dive into the fascinating world of mushrooms! Join us for an unforgettable field trip guided by expert fungal ecologists who will lead you through the enchanting woodlands in search of nature’s hidden gems.

On this field trip, you’ll be introduced to fungi diversity and learn how to identify different types of mushrooms in the forest. You’ll also learn how to identify proper habitats and collect mushrooms. The main purpose of this field trip is spend time in locations with a large diversity of mushrooms, some of the mushroom species collected will be on display at the event on October 12th. 

The field trip is limited in capacity and pre-registration is required. Please meet at the Nature Center parking lot by 9:00am. Each individual is responsible for their own transportation to and from the National Forest. (Car pooling will be available). Plan to travel up to one hour away from Sunriver along the Cascade Lakes Highway.

You should also bring a wide-bottomed container (bucket, basket) and a sturdy knife or small garden trowel for mushroom collection.
